Services
Our Mission and Outreach Committee seeks to involve the church family in a variety of activities in the community. Our activities include:
Warmth Shelter - Currently, we partner with HOPEtown to provide a warmth shelter for anyone in need when temperatures get to 32 degrees F or below at night. The shelter is located in the McMillion-Lawrie Building, First Presbyterian Church, Lewisburg, TN. As long as HOPEtown has volunteers on those nights, we will be open. No sleeping is allowed on floors, or on cots due to fire code regulations. Please reach out to HOPEtown for further information.
Food Pantry - We collect non-perishable food from church members and other persons/groups in the community. The food is then taken to HOPEtown, which is an interdenominational Christian non-profit organization that assists those in need for Lewisburg, and all of Marshall County. Please visit the HOPEtown website and learn more about how to receive food and many other services that they provide to the community.
Local School Supply Donations - Prior to the beginning of each school year, our congregation solicits a supply list from local school officials, and collects donations and school supplies which are given to the school for appropriate distribution.
Salvation Army Volunteers - Members of the FPC serve as volunteer bell-ringers for the Salvation Army's collection kettle each holiday season.
Other Various Outreach Projects - FPC hosts and serves with Impact Center, Village Manor, and In His Image Pregnancy Resource Center.
